What Does Vitamin C Deficiency Have to Do With Cardiovascular Disease?
Ok, What are we talking about?
First, cardio, what does that mean? That is the heart and all of the blood supply to the heart. The blood goes through the heart and the heart has a lot of blood vessels that supply this life-giving, hard-working muscle with blood. All the blood also circulates through the body and then goes through the heart. Why go through it? To pick up the oxygen and get rid of the carbon dioxide. Ok, we all know that.
Second, vascular – that is all of the arteries and veins and capillaries that the blood flows through. These arteries and veins and capillaries deliver the oxygen to your cells and pick up the waste products – especially the carbon dioxide.
Disease means something went wrong.
What? So let’s address one of the key reasons:
There is a Linus Pauling Institute in California. Remember Linus Pauling? The only person to win 2 undivided Nobel Prizes. He’s probably more known for his support of Vitamin C. The medical community wanted to dismiss him-but how do you do that with someone who has won 2 undivided Noble Prizes?
At his facility they looked for the reason that the body put cholesterol in the blood vessels.
There are many of us in the health care field who truly believe that the body is very smart and to find the reason that there is a problem you need to first look and find out why would the body do THAT – what ever the “that” is – how would that be survival?
At The Linus Pauling Institute, what was discovered was that most Americans are Vitamin C deficient (also called scurvy). Without enough C the body cannot make enough collagen for the body’s needs.
Why is this important?
Collagen is the thread that has sewn the cells together. So, if there isn’t enough thread then the cells start to come apart and the blood cells start to “weep”. Not good for the body, right? So what is a body to do? In order to keep the blood cells in the vessels so that they can do their job (drop off oxygen and pick up waste – the trash, as it were) the body uses cholesterol AS A BAND AID!!! It isn’t a mistake. It’s for a very good reason. It’s there to protect you. The body is an ingenious machine and will heal itself – if given the right materials or building blocks. OK, so now how do we fix this? I bet you see right away. The body needs Vitamin C! But not just any Vitamin C! We now know certain forms of Vitamin C are the best. Contact me and I’ll tell you.
